Family medicine physician Maria Crompton, DO, wanted to be a doctor since childhood, but it was her experiences later in life that shaped her interests. “I completed a family medicine rotation in rural West Texas and after that, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.”

Crompton enjoys small-town living and feels right at home in Pittsburg, where she is devoted to her career and her patients. “As a doctor, you build relationships with people and you take care of babies and watch them grow into adults. To me, that lifelong patient relationship is what it’s all about.”

She also is dedicated to her community, with a background of volunteer service that includes teaching Sunday school, leading a Girl Scout troop and building homes for Habitat for Humanity. “I believe in doing as much as I can to help people and touch lives in a positive way.”
